They do not resume until the operator returns to the seat and resets the controls. A flashing yellow warning light alerts the operator when the KOPS lock is activated. In addition, the forks cannot be lowered while the key is in the off position. |
High Efficiency Drive Train - A new transmission, designed and manufactured by Komatsu Forklift Limited, handles the high torque provided by the powerful K21 engine. A high-capacity oil cooler protects the torque converter, and an aluminum alloy transmission case improves heat dissipation. O-ring face seals designed for high-temperature, high-speed applications reduces the possibility of leaks in the pump, power steering circuit and torque converter cooler. |
Angled Exhaust Ports - Hot engine air and exhaust gases are tiring to the operator. On the AX50, angled ports aim hot engine air away from the operator while traveling in reverse. Exhaust vents located low on the counterweight keep exhaust gases away from the operator and also away from the floor to avoid stirring up dust. |

Dual Floating Structure Reduces Vibrations - A unique dual vibration cushioning system reduced vibrations in the compartment, steering wheel, control levers and the mast. Any vibrations transmitted from the engine or road surface are quickly absorbed. The system is friendly to both the operator and the load. |
Full Suspension Seat - The full suspension seat provides improved operator comfort. The deluxe seat features improved vibration resistance and reduced stress on the body. This seat features six-step reclining backrest, 6.7” slide distance backward and forward, seat cushion adjustable dial and a retractable seat belt. |
Secure Operator Controls - The secure lever controls with minimum movement using fingertip operator for the F/R lever. The control levers feature contoured knobs for ease of control. A smaller steering wheel permits widened forward visibility along with the redesigned dashboard for complete fork tip visibility. Komatsu’s unique cushioning valve enables control of the braking force in proportion to the pressure on the brake pedal and improves the braking feel. |
Reduced Hot Air and Exhaust Gas - Two counterweight air outlets are provided on the left and right sides and an exhaust pipe outlet is provided at a lower position. This prevents the operator from being exposed to hot air from the radiator and exhaust gases while driving in reverse. The 3-way catalytic system also purifies the nitrogen oxide, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide emissions. |

Enhanced Operator Visability - Operational visibility is greatly enhanced through improvements of the shape of the top of the counterweight and through an increased distance between the inner mast rails. Rearward visibility has been improved through a downward angle to the top edge of the counterweight. Also, forward visibility has been improved by repositioning the lift chains to the outside rail. |

Controllability and Operation - The FH series requires less inching pedal use because the HST forklift can adjust speed through the use of the accelerator pedal. Also with excellent controllability of the HST, the operator has better control when maneuvering in tight quarters, lifting, or load handling. Travel speeds can be set in for stages and activated with the turtle switch. To eliminate inadvertent start-ups, the FH engine can only start when the shift lever is set to neutral, brake pedal depressed and the operator is in the seat. |
